Piano moving in Thornbury
Piano movers for Thornbury
Thornbury’s Californian bungalows and Edwardian weatherboards are classic homes for a family piano, usually in a front room off a central hall. Add the newer apartment blocks along High Street and St Georges Road, and Thornbury moves range from straightforward to tight.
Bungalow verandahs typically have a few steps and a narrow front door. We use a strapped trolley and ramps, pad the door frame and keep the piano upright and controlled the whole way. Inside, rugs and furniture along the route are moved aside and floors are covered.
New and second-hand pianos
Thornbury is a popular place to buy a piano second-hand, whether from a neighbour or online. We collect from the seller and deliver to you in one trip, and we deliver new instruments from Melbourne piano retailers.

Read them all on GoogleGabriel and his team were friendly, professional, punctual and did an outstanding job. They moved my upright piano into my new apartment up on the second floor. It was a tight and difficult stairwell and they completed the job perfectly. I highly recommend Gabriel and the team at Victorian Piano Transport!
These guys are brilliant. Gabriel moved my (extremely heavy) German piano with care and ease. The previous movers I used before struggled with this piano – I couldn’t believe how calm, efficient and seamless the whole experience was with Victorian Piano Transport. Gabriel’s an absolute pro and I will definitely be calling him for any future piano moves! Thanks again Gabriel and team.
Gabriel and his team at Victorian Piano Transport are amazing. They went above and beyond to move three of our pianos to our music school. They transported the pianos to our new location and used a crane to safely get the pianos to the first floor of our building. Very fair prices as well. Would definitely recommend.
Gabriel and Zak were absolutely wonderful, polite and intelligent. Very careful, caring about my 2 Steinways to be moved from rental property to our renovated house with steps in both places. The price was very good. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this company. If you are looking for a piano move-this is the one to go with. I did my search before I have chosen this one, no regret. Many thanks again, Gabriel
Had a piano picked up from house after selling it this week. Have to say Gabriel was amazing! Great attention to handling a Kawai upright piano with care and fantastic client service. If you are after a piano transport service in Melbourne this is the one for you!!
It was a delight dealing with Gabriel. He and his partner did a great job putting our upright piano in its place. They were punctual, friendly and very professional. If I ever need a piano moved I wouldn’t call anyone else.
Gabriel moved our precious old family upright piano from Melbourne to Horsham. Very thorough service. Great communication re times and completely reliable. Thanks for the care and service Gabriel.
The communication from start to finish was A+. A steep driveway and tricky stairs, and the guys made it look easy! I would definitely recommend their service to anyone wanting their piano moved with confidence. Thanks again!
Gabriel helped to organise my piano move from Camberwell to Wartook (Grampians) and was a pleasure to deal with; professional, courteous and understanding and got the job done quick with no dramas. Piano is in new home, safe and sound. I'm glad I didn't do it myself!
Gabriel and his team were very professional and respectful in moving my upright Kawai piano on a 45’ slope. He made it look so easy (when it’s not) and proactively looked out for uneven grounds and gave advice on how to maneuver the piano to his team every step of the way. 10/10 for service and professionalism. Highly recommend VPT!
Highly recommended. We hired Gabriel to move our Baby Grand Piano as he had great reviews and he did not disappoint. It was raining but they waited it out and transported the piano with great care. They were punctual, friendly, excellent communication and a great price. Thank you Gabriel and team. A+++
Sought the help Gabriel and his team for moving an upright piano looking at the great reviews. He did not disappoint, it was raining heavily but the job was done professionally and with no hassles. Stairs, no problem; rain, no problem, consider the job well done. Thanks much to Gabriel and his team for the help.
Both Gabriel and Gin very professional, it was a pleasure to see these guys arrive on time, carefully delivering our piano to our home with kit gloves, this meant a lot to us and they were very sensitive to our requests. No trouble at all to get the job done perfectly. I highly recommend this company to whomever needs a piano removed or delivered. Andrea.
Very happy that I got Gabriel and Pete to move my Yamaha U3. The move required over lawn, outdoor stairs, 6 internal stairs, and tight spaces. They did a fabulous job. Very happy with the price, service, communication. Definitely recommend.
