For a piano, that means two very different moves: a narrow terrace hallway with a tight turn into the front room, or a lift ride that needs booking with building management.
For apartments, we ask about the lift, the loading area and whether the building sets a time slot for removals. Many uprights fit in a standard passenger lift on their trolley, but not every lift is big enough, and it is much better to know that before moving day. For terraces, we ask about the hallway width and plan the turn, so the piano goes in once, cleanly.

These guys did an amazing job of moving our piano in, when all the other movers said it couldn't be done! Well worth the money. They wheeled the piano down a laneway, up a 1m high concrete step and up a steep grassy slope to get it in and no damage to piano at all. Very impressed.

My terrace has a narrow hallway. Is that a problem?
