Out of town moves
The further it goes, the more the details matter
On a long trip a piano is exposed to hours of road vibration, braking and temperature change. The way it is strapped and padded in the truck matters far more than on a short hop across the suburb. We tie every piano off upright against the truck wall, pad it on all sides and never load other furniture against it.
We plan regional moves around both properties: driveway access, steps, gravel paths and the distance from the truck to the front door. Country homes often have longer carries or uneven ground, so we bring ramps and the right trolley.
We have been moving pianos between Melbourne and rural Victoria for more than 15 years, for families relocating, buyers collecting second-hand instruments, and schools, churches and retailers.

How it works
Our piano moving process
Quote and access check
Tell us the piano, both addresses and any stairs. We confirm a fixed price and the right crew size.
Protect the room
Floors and door frames are covered before the piano moves an inch.
Wrap and secure
Lids locked, legs and pedals removed where needed, the case padded and strapped to a skid board.
Careful transport
Loaded by ramp or tail lift and tied down upright in our padded vehicle.
Placement
Carried in, reassembled and set exactly where you want it, level and steady.
Final check
We check keys, pedals and casters with you, and can arrange a tuner once it settles.
Questions
Long distance piano moving FAQs
Do you move pianos to regional Victoria?
Yes. We cover metropolitan Melbourne and country Victoria, including Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, the Mornington Peninsula and Gippsland.
Is my piano moved with other furniture?
No. Your piano is the load. It is padded, strapped upright to the truck wall and nothing else is stacked against it.
How is a long distance move priced?
Distance and travel time are the biggest factors, along with stairs and access at each end. Send us both addresses and we will give you a fixed quote.
Will my piano need tuning after a long trip?
Most pianos need tuning after any move once they have adjusted to the new room, usually two to three weeks later. Long trips do not usually add damage when the piano is properly secured.
