Piano moving in Aberfeldie
Piano movers for Aberfeldie’s river slopes
Aberfeldie sits on the high ground above the Maribyrnong River, and a lot of its best homes take advantage of the view. That is wonderful to live with and a little more involved for a piano mover, because many streets fall away toward the river and homes are often built across a slope, with steps through the garden or a steep driveway down to the garage.
Slopes are about control. We look at the gradient, the surface and where the piano can rest along the way, then plan the route so it never runs ahead of the crew. On steep paths we use more hands, not more speed. Inside, the larger family homes often have grands and baby grands in formal living rooms, and those come out on their side, on a padded skid board, with the legs and lyre removed.
We also move plenty of uprights in Aberfeldie, from older family pianos to new instruments arriving from a showroom. Whatever the piano, it is wrapped, strapped and placed exactly where you want it, and the floors are protected along the way.

Read them all on GoogleGabriel and Mich were fantastic! They responded promptly to my inquiries, arrived right on time, and moved our baby grand piano with expert care. They're friendly, experienced, and reasonably priced. Highly recommend!
Just had my dad's precious baby grand piano relocated and the guys did an amazing job. So easy to deal with and highly skilled and professional. We have a large number of steps at our property and they negotiated them with ease and care!!
We are incredibly grateful to the team today. Moving an upright piano is no small task, and despite getting stuck in the lift at one point, they remained calm, professional, and absolutely determined to get the job done. They truly worked like heroes to bring our piano safely up to level one! Their strength, persistence, and positive attitude made a stressful situation so much easier for us. Highly recommend — thank you again for your amazing effort!
I couldn't be happier with the piano moving service from Gabrielle and his team. Clear communication, on time, efficient and handled the piano with great care. Thank you!!
Excellent job on a delivery piano to our apartment. Great communication and friendly service. Would recommend it everyone without any hesitation.
I called these guys at 7pm on a Friday evening with an urgent request to move an old upright piano that would have been trashed otherwise. They were able to sort things out for me very quickly and the piano was moved efficiently a few days later. Competitive rate too. Very happy!
Gabriel did an excellent job moving a piano that we had bought. From organising the job to being prompt on the day through to the utmost care in moving the piano. Hopefully we won’t have to move a piano again for a while but I wouldn’t hesitate to give him a call if I had to!
These guys did an amazing job of moving our piano in, when all the other movers said it couldn't be done! Well worth the money. They wheeled the piano down a laneway, up a 1m high concrete step and up a steep grassy slope to get it in and no damage to piano at all. Very impressed.
Gabriel came and moved my Piano from Geelong to Ballarat. 25 steps at the drop off and I had not seen the place and thought it was flat, Gabriel did it no fuss and only for a small extra fee. Life saver and a great bloke
Gabriel and his team were friendly, professional, punctual and did an outstanding job. They moved my upright piano into my new apartment up on the second floor. It was a tight and difficult stairwell and they completed the job perfectly. I highly recommend Gabriel and the team at Victorian Piano Transport!
These guys are brilliant. Gabriel moved my (extremely heavy) German piano with care and ease. The previous movers I used before struggled with this piano – I couldn’t believe how calm, efficient and seamless the whole experience was with Victorian Piano Transport. Gabriel’s an absolute pro and I will definitely be calling him for any future piano moves! Thanks again Gabriel and team.
Gabriel and his team at Victorian Piano Transport are amazing. They went above and beyond to move three of our pianos to our music school. They transported the pianos to our new location and used a crane to safely get the pianos to the first floor of our building. Very fair prices as well. Would definitely recommend.
Gabriel and Zak were absolutely wonderful, polite and intelligent. Very careful, caring about my 2 Steinways to be moved from rental property to our renovated house with steps in both places. The price was very good. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this company. If you are looking for a piano move-this is the one to go with. I did my search before I have chosen this one, no regret. Many thanks again, Gabriel
Had a piano picked up from house after selling it this week. Have to say Gabriel was amazing! Great attention to handling a Kawai upright piano with care and fantastic client service. If you are after a piano transport service in Melbourne this is the one for you!!
Questions
Piano moving in Aberfeldie: FAQs
Our driveway is very steep. Can you still move a grand piano?
Usually, yes. Tell us about the slope, the surface and any steps. We plan the route carefully and add crew where the gradient needs it.
Do you take the legs off a grand piano?
Yes. Grands travel on their side on a padded skid board with the legs and lyre removed, then everything is refitted once the piano is in place.
Can you pick up a piano I have bought privately?
Yes. Give us the seller’s address and the access details at both ends and we will collect it and deliver it into place.
