Piano moving in Brighton

Piano movers for Brighton homes

Brighton’s homes range from Victorian villas and grand period houses to contemporary architect designed residences and modern townhouses near Church Street and the beach. Many have polished stone or timber floors, glass balustrades and open staircases, all of which need protecting during a piano move.

We plan Brighton moves around the finish of your home as much as the piano. Floors are covered with protective runners, door frames and glass are padded, and the route is agreed with you before the piano is lifted.

Grand pianos

Grand and baby grand pianos are common in Brighton. Each is dismantled, padded and strapped to a skid board, carried by a full crew and reassembled and levelled in its new home. If your new room has underfloor heating or large windows, we can talk through the best position for the instrument.

Upright pianos and pianolas

Uprights and pianolas are moved on stair-rated trolleys, with keys and pedals secured. We regularly take pianos from Brighton homes to restorers and tuners, and deliver new instruments from Melbourne retailers.

  • Stone, timber and glass finishes protected
  • Open and floating staircases planned carefully
  • Grands reassembled and levelled in place

How it works

How a Brighton piano move works

  1. Quote and access check

Tell us the piano, both addresses and any stairs. We confirm a fixed price and the right crew size.

  2. Protect the room

Floors and door frames are covered before the piano moves an inch.

  3. Wrap and secure

Lids locked, legs and pedals removed where needed, the case padded and strapped to a skid board.

  4. Careful transport

Loaded by ramp or tail lift and tied down upright in our padded vehicle.

  5. Placement

Carried in, reassembled and set exactly where you want it, level and steady.

  6. Final check

We check keys, pedals and casters with you, and can arrange a tuner once it settles.

Just had my dad's precious baby grand piano relocated and the guys did an amazing job. So easy to deal with and highly skilled and professional. We have a large number of steps at our property and they negotiated them with ease and care!!

We are incredibly grateful to the team today. Moving an upright piano is no small task, and despite getting stuck in the lift at one point, they remained calm, professional, and absolutely determined to get the job done. They truly worked like heroes to bring our piano safely up to level one! Their strength, persistence, and positive attitude made a stressful situation so much easier for us. Highly recommend — thank you again for your amazing effort!

I called these guys at 7pm on a Friday evening with an urgent request to move an old upright piano that would have been trashed otherwise. They were able to sort things out for me very quickly and the piano was moved efficiently a few days later. Competitive rate too. Very happy!

Gabriel did an excellent job moving a piano that we had bought. From organising the job to being prompt on the day through to the utmost care in moving the piano. Hopefully we won’t have to move a piano again for a while but I wouldn’t hesitate to give him a call if I had to!

These guys did an amazing job of moving our piano in, when all the other movers said it couldn't be done! Well worth the money. They wheeled the piano down a laneway, up a 1m high concrete step and up a steep grassy slope to get it in and no damage to piano at all. Very impressed.

Gabriel came and moved my Piano from Geelong to Ballarat. 25 steps at the drop off and I had not seen the place and thought it was flat, Gabriel did it no fuss and only for a small extra fee. Life saver and a great bloke

Gabriel and his team were friendly, professional, punctual and did an outstanding job. They moved my upright piano into my new apartment up on the second floor. It was a tight and difficult stairwell and they completed the job perfectly. I highly recommend Gabriel and the team at Victorian Piano Transport!

These guys are brilliant. Gabriel moved my (extremely heavy) German piano with care and ease. The previous movers I used before struggled with this piano – I couldn’t believe how calm, efficient and seamless the whole experience was with Victorian Piano Transport. Gabriel’s an absolute pro and I will definitely be calling him for any future piano moves! Thanks again Gabriel and team.

Gabriel and his team at Victorian Piano Transport are amazing. They went above and beyond to move three of our pianos to our music school. They transported the pianos to our new location and used a crane to safely get the pianos to the first floor of our building. Very fair prices as well. Would definitely recommend.

Gabriel and Zak were absolutely wonderful, polite and intelligent. Very careful, caring about my 2 Steinways to be moved from rental property to our renovated house with steps in both places. The price was very good. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this company. If you are looking for a piano move-this is the one to go with. I did my search before I have chosen this one, no regret. Many thanks again, Gabriel
